The Fallen State
On this episode of TheFallenState TV, Jesse Lee Peterson interviews Alicia Frison, chairwoman of the UCLA Afrikan Student Union. Last month, the UCLA Afrikan Student Union released a list of demands to UCLA's administration that included more black faculty members, guaranteed on- and off-campus housing for black students, and a $40 million endowment to address "African-American underrepresentation on campus." According to Alicia, the Afrikan Student Union has become upset over various on-campus incidents that they feel were racially charged (such as a "Kanye Western" themed party, a white student making a gang hand sign, and the posting of "racist" stickers around campus). Don't miss this important and lively discussion!
